Event title: Children’s Storytime: Wojtek War Hero Bear with author Jennifer Robertson
Date: Saturday 3 August

Description: The tale of a very special bear, told by author Jennifer Robertson. When a tiny orphaned bear cub is adopted by Polish soldiers during World War II, little does anyone know that little Wojtek will become one of the bravest fighters of them all.

Event title: Film screening of Warsaw Rising
Date: Saturday 3 August

Location: Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries (Canmore Room)
Description: The first-ever screening in the UK of the film Warsaw Rising, created from footage shot during the Warsaw Uprising of summer 1944. Based on 6 hours of original footage from the Warsaw Uprising,1440 hours of colourising, 112.000 selected frames, 648.000 minutes of film frame-by-frame reconstruction work, 22.971.520 megabytes of data. The world’s first documentary made entirely of the original footage. Filmed by the people who fought for the country. See the true Uprising.

Event title: 1940s Wartime Evening Dance with That Swing Sensation

Location: The Glen Pavillion, Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline 
Description: Dance the night away with the fantastic That Swing Sensation! They’ll get you up on the dance floor and trying out all the classic dance moves from the 1940s. Attendees are encouraged to dress in wartime attire.
